10 Wonderful Aspects of Moonrise Kingdom

1. Both main characters Suzy and Sam were perfect actors for their roles.

2. Jason Schwartzman was hilarious as the uptight yet understanding scout leader.

3. As usual, Wes Anderson's amazing cinematography and style showed through.

4. Jared Gillman played an extraordinary and dimensional young boy.

5. Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Ed Norton, and Frances McDormand all were emotional and interesting characters.

6. The role of Ed Norton was different than what we are used to seeing him in, especially while I have Fight Club in mind at the moment. It shows his flexibility in acting skills and his ability to play a very relatable character.

7. Bob Balaban was cute and funny. His character and scenes reminded me of a Life Aquatic documentary.

8. Wes Anderson created 6 fictional books that Suzy carries around in the movie, with jacket art created by David Costello, Juman Malouf, Sandro Kopp, Eric Anderson, Andrea Dopaso, and Kevin Hooyman. I also noticed that the film was dedicated to "Juman" and I guessed that it referred to the above mentioned artist.

9. I found Sam very captivating. He reminds me a bit of Max Fischer, the way he excels in certain aspects, and has flaws in others such as dealing with reality. Watching Moonrise Kingdom just makes you want to escape reality, though. Sam and Suzy are naive to run away together at 12(?), but somehow it just seems lovely, and makes you want to run free from life even without knowing what to expect. Sort of like the quote from Lewis Carroll "if you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."

10. I am certain that Wes Anderson is a god, hence Moonrise Kingdom could not have been any better than he made it.
